  • Upper Dolpo restricted area entry permit: This permit is required for all foreigners. It costs $500 for the first 10 days, and $50 per day after that. You can get this permit from the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu. 
  • Shey Phoksundo National Park entry permit: This permit is required to enter the park, which covers parts of Upper and Lower Dolpo. It costs $30 for foreigners. 
  • Lower Dolpo permit: If your trek starts or ends in Dunai or Juphal, you’ll need a two-week Lower Dolpo permit. It costs $20 per person per week. 
  • Monastery entry fee: You’ll need to pay a fee to enter each monastery you visit. The fee varies by monastery, but is usually between NPR 200–400 per person. 
  • Guides and Porters: A licensed guide and porter are recommended for navigation and carrying equipment.
